Acqua al 2 is by far my favorite Italian place in the city. Its Chef Martin Gonzalez serves the most authentic Italian food in San Diego. He follows the true tradition of Italian cuisine by serving his dishes in courses - pasta, meat and desert - not just slopping pasta, meat and vegetables on one plate like other Italian eateries.

Not many people know that Acqua al 2 is a duplicate of the well-known Acqua al 2 in Florence, Italy. Acqua al 2's waiters will tell you the restaurant's histroy when you sit down to eat. I take all my out of town guests to Acqua al 2 when they visit San Diego.
